Zell am See is a beautiful small alpine town, nestling below snow-capped mountains on the shore of acrystal clear blue lake.

In the summer the climate and atmosphere is very 'continental' and its very easy to just while away the hours strolling beside the lake visiting the many waterside cafes, bars and restaurants.

There really is a wealth of things to do in the summer: The lakes and rivers are of drinking water quality and the lake temperature a can reach a balmy 25 degrees in July and August, ideal for swimming and water sports. You can hire canoes, windsurfers, sailing boats etc or take pleasure boat trips.

Skiing on the Kaprun glacier is possible right through the Summer, and if you fancy a change, the resorts of Saalbach, Hinterglem and Kitzbuhel are also just a short bus ride away. Salzburg centre is also just a short train journey away.
